The project developes the idea of a flexible object, a sort of flying carpet, able to accommodate users in different contexts such as private gardens, public spaces and swimming pools. This experimental chaise-longue design is created following man’s and nature curves, in particular the spine’s curves in different positions of relax of the human body and through the exploration of new three dimensional bending techniques of the wood.
A curved surface of this natural and warm material, able to host up to two people, is suspended over a brushed steel tube structure and gives the users the chance of taking different positions according to different wills of relax.
This result is obtained by working with an special material obtained from veneers of different wood species, that has the quality of being distortable and then able to overcome the traditional wood bending techniques.
