Chongqing is a hilly town. During the World War II, tunnels were built beneath the city to hide supplies and arms. These tunnels still exist today, and the client wanted to transform part of them for use as a wine cellar.

We proposed to build a raised pathway through the tunnels, using the different part of the labyrinth to suggest a trip through various wine-producing nations. The names of the different wine-producing nations are written on the walls with the method of anamorphosis, a particular technique of perspective, and them appears readable only in certain locations of the rooms. This way, visitors will engage in a game of discovering these secret hints, hidden in the game of perspective. The project also included two separate dining areas and dedicated storage space for customers who wish to keep their wine at perfect, natural temperature.
